A term associated with the Peter Principle, referring to persons who find themselves humiliated and disparaged as a result of rising far above their competency level. As a result, they become so obsessed with the office politics and their failings, usually blamed on others, that their functioning is increasingly impaired, which usually brings about their termination.

It may be used in non work, personal situations such as divovce proceedings.
