The term for a close friend whom you used to hang out with often, but now see only rarely such as at birthday parties for mutual friends and other special social events. Often these encounters are awkward as mutual friends bring you together obligatorially, not voluntarily.
Friend 1: "Have you seen or spoken to Bob at all?"
Friend 2: "No, I haven't. We used to hang all the time, but kind of had a falling out and we don't talk all that much any more. He's just a calendar friend."

A "Meme Friend" is the lowest form of friendship. Also known as, "The Meme of the friend", Meme friends are like a "neighbour", you know them and you can't ignore them, so you say "hi" when you pass them bye. You can't talk to them about serious things, so you just say/share light hearted things, like memes. It can be seen as an insult to call someone a meme friend, therefore you shouldn't tell someone you, "just see them as a meme friend!"
"I can't trust you, you're such a meme friend"
"Do you think he will want to come out with us at the weekend" reply, "Nah, he's more of a meme friend"
"I don't see you guys as my real friends, you're more like my meme friends"

When you like someone, but you can never muster up the courage to talk to them when they're with friends. Whether it's because you don't feel comfortable with the friends, or you don't want to embarrass yourself, these friends are a major cockblock for you.
Ex. 1. I want to talk to Tommy, but his friends are with him!
I hate being a victim to the Friend Factor!
Ex. 2. If I go up to Rick and his pals, I know I'll embarrass myself! Stupid friend factor >:(
