The Devin Effect

The Devin Effect is a term used in the League of Legends community given to a specific circumstance in which a game can be lost due to a disproportional amount of kills given to one player. Although a team can technically be ahead in kills, if the majority of the kills have been given to one specific champion, they will ultimately lose the game for the rest of the team due to the lack of spreading of gold, kills, assists, and resources. If said champion were to die during a team fight, the rest of the team would stand no chance against the opposing team.

Devin got all the kills during the first half of the game, so the rest of us were left at level 12 without upgraded boots and I began to reverse snowball. We lost the game because of the Devin Effect.

The Bagel Effect

What happens when someone throws a bagel at a random guy, causing the other person to become that person's arch nemesis. A good example of this is when Miles Morales thew a Bagel at Johnathan Oone, causing Johnathan to develop an intense hatred towards Miles, after that (and a collider incident) Johnathan became The Spot, who claims to be Miles's nemesis.

Guy 1: I'm gonna throw this bagel at someone!
Guy 2: No! You'll cause The Bagel Effect!
Guy 1: *Throws bagel at Guy 3*
(A year later)
Guy 1: *Minding his business*
Guy 3: Remember me? I am your worst enemy.

The Sands Effect

The Sands Effect occurs when you spend a night out drinking and get lucky enough to bring a girl back to your place. You only got the girl over because you were drunk and loose and free of any pressure. But because you were drunk your cock stays limp as if it were filled with sand. And because of this, sex is not and option. You go out the next night without drinking hoping to get the same girl over once more. You see the girl and at first she seems willing, but sober you is not good enough to get the girl over. The process by which an eBay seller, after seeing another seller's Buy it Now (BiN) price, lists their own similar item for a higher price.

Responsible for most eBay price inflations and the reselling market in general.
Doesn't have to apply to eBay, can also apply to brick-and-mortar stores and markets.

I can never find deals at pawn shops or thrift stores anymore due to the bin effect.
