Late 80s/early 90s dancing accompaniment, mostly occurring (or at least originating) in gay bars, where dancers would raise their arms and clap rhythmically to instrumental parts of songs while dancing.

You used to always see crowds in dance clubs Miami clapping to old school house music.

Icelandic clap
