Raise the Stripes A cultural movement emerging across Northern England that celebrates Northern identity, heritage, humour, and community pride. Known for its distinctive Northumbria flag and its focus on regional culture rather than politics.

Raise the Stripes began online as a grassroots expression of Northern culture. Supporters use the colours and stripes to represent Northern English Culture & Identity as well as the shared experiences that define the unique way of life in the North.

The movement has grown through TikTok, Facebook, and local communities, where people use the stripes to show pride in Northern culture, dialects, and traditions. It’s often described as a modern cultural revival, giving Northerners a visual symbol of identity and belonging. It has an official website and a wikispore.

Not political, cultural. It focuses on heritage, representation, and giving the North a stronger cultural voice.
