A friendship that feels awkward, especially after being dumped by your significant other.
Usually a friendship that you won't keep after being dumped by your girlfriend/boyfriend.

Guy 1: You got dumped by that hot chick you really like? Are you still friends with her?
Guy 2: Ehhhh, I am, but, it's real awkward. Now, she can have a relationship with any guy she wants, and not feel guilty about talking to me about it. I may as well dump her as a friend. What I have with her is an awkward friendship.

When persons pretend to be friends on a regular basis so often that they actually develop a small friendship, even though they can't stand eachother. People will do this for any number of reasons, though commonly it is done to avoid drama or an ass kicking.
Chris - Dude, Abe is such a herb, you're friends with that guy?
James - Meh, it's more of a forced friendship, he's always down to be the designated driver.
Chris - What a tool!

Something No-BODY deserves to have go through.
And if you're going through a Toxic friendship, END IT. Don't be scared or worried, because in the end of the day, they're the losers, not you!
Advice to you if you think you're going through a toxic friendship:
1- Make sure of it. Maybe they don't mean it at all.
2- Fake friends usually: lie to you, backstab you, talk $h!t about you and then act "nice", try to control you, come to you when the need help, ignore your messages/ leave you on read/seen, get mad at you for doing something and when they do it, it's totally fine, ignore you when they're with other friends, etc. If your friend is doing $h!t like this, then LEAVE THEM.
3- At first, it might be a bit hard to leave toxic relationships, but after you gain a sense of reality, you realize they aren't worth it, it's not important if u knew them your whole life, it's not important if the rest of your friends usually side with them, none of that matters. What actually matters is how you feel towards them.
4- NEVER let these people affect your thinking, nobody deserves it. ONLY YOU do. So always focus on yourself, and remember, it's not really a shame to sit by yourself at lunch.
5-slowly distance yourself away from them (block them on social media, don't open conversations with them)
6- Don't get too close to people, always set limits, and don't have high expectations of others.

Girl: I feel very left out, my friend would always ditch me, and talk about me behind my back.
Girl2: Hey! She's giving you such a toxic friendship I'm here for you, she doesn't deserve your thoughts girl!!!
