The popular online term “Don’t Thai to me” have an exact definition but it boils down to “don’t lie to me” ,“don’t steal from me” or “don’t cheat on me” . This term can often be found during a heated conversation between an outsider and a Thai person where the outsider typically responds to the Thai person’s accusation by saying “don’t thai to me”. It's believed to have originated in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong in around 2013.

Ostensibly they are against the deep state, believe in free speech, and are simply down to earth, regular guys. Unfortunately they get a disproportionate amount of media coverage because they have so much money they can literally buy/control anything if they want (i.e. presidencies, politicians, social media platforms, newspapers, sports teams, etc.).
Ellen Degeneres employed this persona in self-parody in her stand-up 'Relatable' in 2018, joking she fully empties her toothpaste just like us poors do...except she squeezes it out by flattening the tube with a gold bar.
