When someone gets good grades in school because they have the ability to memorise pages of information, however in real life they’re absolute idiots.
John: “Linda is so clever, she got 92% on her history test”
Abraham: “Nah, she’s just textbook smart. She doesn’t even know how to spell Nickelodeon”

Someone who intends to or has completed an academic piece of work or endeavour by memorising information from a textbook, often leading to a shallow understanding of the topic.
"How did you get an A on the exam?"
"I just went over the textbook until I could recite it"
"You're definitely a textbook monkey"

An activity that extremely mentally accelerated individuals do not choose to partake in from the perceived notion that it is a waste of time for their intellectual pursuits; for others this also means running their head into a brick wall and trying to find things to highlight that could possibly be meaningful for future reference when in reality it only devalues the book's resale value.
