An alot is an imaginary creature made up by the writer of the blog hyperboleandahalf to cope with the stress of people misspelling the words 'a lot' into 'alot'. With creative use of commas, the word alot then becomes a creature that the offender is talking about to talking to. More info can be found on the hyperboleandahalf blog.
