Kinsey Scale

The Kinsey Scale is an apparatus, somewhat resembling a standard bathroom scale, which quantifies whether its user is light in the loafers. Before deployment, each Kinsey scale is taken to gay saunas and drag queen shows to be carefully calibrated, based on this standard:

0 Exclusively heterosexual
1 Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual
2 Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3 Equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 Predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5 Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual
6 Exclusively homosexual

The result, on a scale of zero to six, is displayed using the six colours of the Baker pride flag. If the user is entirely light in the loafers, all six colours will illuminate like a rainbow; if the user is entirely straight, the whole display fades to monochrome.
I picked up a used Kinsey Scale in a local department store as part of an ongoing promotion, in which clients are encouraged to collect Kinsey points and redeem them for valuable prizes. Apparently Ellen, the lady on the telly, managed to collect all six Kinsey points and redeem them for a toaster oven - so maybe that's the incentive I should try next?

There's also the Klein Scale, which runs from one to seven on multiple factors, including whether the user is wearing Calvin Klein or BumChums as undergarments. A bit more complex, but it seems to have a few interesting possibilities.

Balloon Dog Years scale

Similar to the dog years to human years scale, there is a scale that coverts the time someone has owned a balloon dog to human years.

The scale is add a zero for every month owned, and that's the age of your balloon dog.

Example scale:
1 month = 10 human years
2 months = 20 human years
3 months = 30 human years
Etc.

There is no difference in the scale between small, medium or large dogs.
Person 1: Aw, your balloon dog is so cute. What's his name and how old is he?

Person 2: Thanks. His name is Mello and he's 1 month old today.

Person 1: Wow. So he would be 10 if we use the balloon dog years scale . Happy birthday mello!

The Prom Night Scale

A Rating Scale ranging from 1-10 used to judge the attractiveness of a female based on how good she would look if she was going to prom.

To calculate a Prom Night rating one must account for professionally done make-up and hair. Spray-tan, self-tanner and other skin enhancing products must be accounted for as well.

Normal Female 1-10 Scale Conversion rate: +2 per point.

Jenny real world: 6
Jenny at prom: 8
Tom: Yeah, I met Jeff's sister the other day.

Mike: Oh yeah? Is she pretty good looking?
Tom: Eh, she's probably an 8 on the Prom Night Scale. .

Mike: That's not too bad if you see her at a wedding.

Depression Scale

When you suffer from MDD (depression), some days are better than others. You may feel fine one day, but the next day you'll feel like you want to die.

The following is a "scale" of how a depressed person's days can go. To make this less confusing, the person will be referred to as "Bob."
The Depression Scale

LEVEL ZERO: Good days

Bob exhibits absolutely no symptoms of depression, and may even appear quite happy.

LEVEL ONE: Standard days

Bob will appear fine on the outside, but on the inside he feels gloomy and disinterested. Don't expect him to tell you about it, though.

LEVEL TWO: Bad days

Things haven't been going well for Bob. Unlike level one where he just feels down, level two depression is where he actually has a reason to feel the way they does. He will most likely want to be alone, and will deflect all forms of conversation.

LEVEL THREE: Mental Breakdown

Bob has had an absolutely awful day and cannot suppress how he feels any longer. He'll tell just about anyone who's willing to lend an ear, and will probably start sobbing halfway through.

LEVEL FOUR: Self-harm

Bob feels so numb inside, he has resorted to physically hurting himself in order to feel something, anything. He doesn't care how dangerous it is for his health; he stopped caring about himself a long time ago.

LEVEL FIVE: Ending it all

Bob is done. He's been pushed around and bullied enough by the universe, and has decided that the only option left is to take his own life.
