a couch potato whom is so desperate for attention that they engulf themselves into the hobbies of those they manipulate into introducing themselves to, whom when the truth of behaviors and habits of themselves finally breach the surface of the lie the craft to ingratiate themselves into the lives of others, reverts back to the aggressive "couch potato" to troll on facebook until they find another unfortunate soul to prey upon.

A poser is a little bitch who acts like they know and associate with something(a piece of media) when they really don't know anything about it. They like to make it their whole personality but when you ask them the most simple of questions about it they suddenly can't remember or "interacted with it a looong time ago"

Poser Goth.

Someone who dresses Goth, but doesn't pay enough attention to Goth lyrics to understand that to be Goth is to listen to the music, and also to rebel against the mainstream. If you see someone in a Bauhaus shirt, but they are talking like this: "bruh for real. Bro what. Bro says. Bro this, bro that. That's lit. That's fire ", it's a good chance they are a poser.

"Bro, broooooo bro." Bro- a term used by normal people, that is rejected by alternative subcultures. Slang denotes a poser Goth.

(TYPICALLY METAL GENRE) a poser is someone using a specific genre/band as a way to impress someone. for example, if your crush says they like the misfits, you buy a misfits shirt, not knowing any of their songs or anything about them.

little rant-
people keep saying that bands like SOAD, deftones and other "nu metal" bands are poser bands just because they don't sound like black sabbath, metallica, iron maiden, slayer, megadeth, etc. there are many different sub-genres in metal, and it shouldn't restrict to JUST thrash, death, or other "heavier" sub-genres. SOAD and deftones aren't even really nu metal, they just do what they like to do. they're not poser bands. like what you like, and listen to whatever you want to listen to.

someone: *sees someone in a nirvana shirt* "hey, what's your favorite nirvana song?"

poser:"uh.. I don't know any.. I just think its cute."
