It means that you are so deeply connected to a person that you can become very vulnerable or become easily hurt by them if they decided to disappointment you. You can also see it as the other person dictating your emotions. So without them you are not happy or you cannot manage independently.

Teacher attachment is the attachment of a person, mostly students, with mommy issues to a teacher that gives the attention, affection, and possibly love, that was not given to the person/student as a child by their own mother.
Mommy issues occur when a person’s mother neglected, abused, gaslighted, manipulated, didnt care, never gave affection, making her own child feel like the worst person in the world, and was just an absolute narcissist or a bitch that couldnt handle caring for her own child. Which resulted in a person developing mommy issues that can later affect this person’s future relationships, self confidence, self esteem, etc. Mommy issues can cause commitment issues, trust issues, insecurities, dependency, needy for validation, and being attached to near mother figures.

This attachment to teachers, occurs when a person with mommy issues is met with a teacher who has a maternal instinct or feels like a motherly figure or even gives what this person was neglected of by their own mother, to the person with mommy issues, this can cause emotional attachment.
