a generally derogatory term for those that view particular parts of Japanese Culture (namely anime) as the majority of its culture and attempt to immerse themselves and claim to be "fluent in Japanese Culture" because of it.

"So you watched Naruto and Bleach and therefore think you know Japanese? ... Fuckin weeb"

often confused with weeaboo, it is someone who likes japan, the culture, language, and anime respectfully and doesn't wish to be Japanese, but because they like japan and the language and like to learn about it so much they like to make fun of themselves by comparing themselves to real weeaboos and will say Japanese words like a weeaboo would, but as a joke and not seriously.

weeaboo: that's so kawaii desu sugoi chan!! my nihongo is so good I wish I could leave my house and live in my natural habitat in Japan !!!
