Before the bench got it's name it appeared in "Monterey Bay Aquarium Nerds Out Over BUGS in Animal Crossing with Emily Graslie and Dr. Ryan Gott!" during the last hours of the livestream the group discussed horror stories involving bugs.
The bench is now infamous for all kinds of horror stories, from skin boring insects to 12 foot long tape worms coming out of your digestive tract.
