A phrase for when a drafter has simply had enough of drafting and simply cannot manage to draft another line
Person 1: Hey bro, I need some plans drawn up for a new house we are building
Person 2: I’m Sorry bro, but I am putting down the T-Square
Person 1: Oh No! Will you ever return???
Person 2: I don’t know, maybe I will, maybe I wont. Drafting is hard work sonny

picking up what you're putting down 

Understanding what the person is saying. Reaching an agreement.
"Do you understand?"
"Yes"
"Are you picking up what I'm puttting down"

Telling someone you understand what they are talking about.
George: After you wash the car you need to feed the dog and take out the cat.

Bill: Ok George, I'm picking up what you're putting down!

You dig what im putting down 

A phrase, usually used in question form which asks if the person being questioned knows what you are talking about, refering to, or trying to suggest.
"I beat that bitch up Norris Style, if you dig what im putting down."
or "Do you dig what im putting down?"

putting a deposit down on some fine china

expression used to refer to a bowel movement. The china being the porcelain toilet.
Nobody could find Steve, it turns out he was in the bathroom putting a deposit down on some fine china

Putting my stiletto down 

A woman's way of saying to her man: "I'm putting my foot down." Making deMANds - demands from the man
"He said tonight is a boy's night, AGAIN! ... but I am putting my stiletto down!"
