A tiny area of San Francisco which straddles Chinatown and the
Financial District. It lies within the thin shadow of the Transamerica Pyramid. The boundaries are generally Pacific Street, Montgomery Street, Sacramento Street and Kearny Street, dissected by Columbus Avenue. Virtually no one resides there
officially, and yet it is one of the busiest parts of the city by day. The portmanteau format draws upon the 'SoMa' usage for South of Market Street and latterly 'NoPa' for North of the Panhandle.
Inspired by 'DiFi' for Senator Dianne Feinstein, a San Francisco icon.
