1. The ironic act of a woman interrupting a man because she is not
listening to, or
interested in, what he is saying despite claims of being silenced because of her gender.
2. A tongue-in-cheek word coined to highlight the absurdity of feminist attempts to make the
universal act of interrupting a gendered issue (see manterrupting).
John: "I'm sorry I left my tools on the dining table again, but I was..."
Sally: "
Don't tell me you're sorry when I have
repeatedly spoken to you about this!"
John: "I'm trying to apologize and explain my
forgetfulness on this occasion. Please don't femterrupt me."
