The Practicality Threshold

Some things are just too practical to work. The practicality threshold is defined as the line beyond which things become too practical for use.
"Hey, why are we taking a hot air balloon to the moon instead of a rocket?"

"Because the rocket is past the practicality threshold!"

best practice

An invented term by corporate management to describe one person's solution to a work task or process as 'revolutionary' or so unique that one is required to share this 'practice' with others at work.

The politically correct and corporate accepted term used to require folks to gather together in a time wasting meeting so the expenditures can be justified to senior management.
The agenda for tomorrow's meeting is to share best practices.

Nurse-Practitioner

V.

1) to “correct” someone in an overly confident and grandiose way asserting “facts,” while being simultaneously completely wrong and completely unaware of being wrong.

2) to “fix” a situation with full confidence and reassurance, but actually make it worse without realizing it.

N.

An undertrained person that is made to do the work of a fully trained expert without the required knowledge/skill and without knowing that he/she is actually not an expert.
V.

1) “I studied the Civil War for over a month, but when mom asked me a question about it, the guest nurse-practitionered right over me.”

2) “I took my engine to be repaired; unfortunately though the mechanic nurse-practitionered it and then overcharged me for the service.”

N.

“My pipes broke and I thought I hired a plumber, but a nurse practitioner showed up.”

Practice

The act of turning admired potential into envied ability. Contrary to popular belief, practice does not make "perfect", it conversely makes "permenant".
I'd better practice my skating if I want to make enemies on the ice.
