Dingwittedy

The act of someone who thinks that their ideas and wit are far superior than their peers. When the ideas/wit fails miserably, they blame it on a 'blonde moment'.

Amy has such dingwittedy ideas that she thought that throwing a kid in the deep end of the pool would teach them to swim.

So named for a faux-Harry Potter spell that makes people inexplicably stupid. Used to describe why someone could be stupid on purpose.

When volunteer editors nix a correct term in favor a blatantly wrong one already posted, they must have been struck by the Dimwitticus curse.
