Alberta Syndrome

noun

A psychological condition in which a person fiercely criticizes the Canadian federal government, denounces equalization payments, rejects eastern political values, and flirts with American-style libertarianism — yet still proudly identifies as a "true Canadian." Often marked by deep resentment toward Ottawa, an obsession with oil, and a confused national loyalty complex.
"Dude won’t shut up about how Trudeau’s ruining the country, calls himself a freedom-loving Albertan patriot, but still tears up during the national anthem — classic Alberta Syndrome."

A condition where you act American, think Western, vote Conservative, feel betrayed by Ottawa… and then whisper, “But I’m a real Canadian” while polishing your rifle next to a maple leaf flag and a framed copy of the Charter.
"He’s got a lifted truck, a ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ bumper sticker, won’t shut up about Wexit, but still cries over Tim Hortons commercials — textbook Confederate Canuck Complex (CCC)."
