A form of media that completely relies on the popularity of its prequel to get revenue and popularity. It typically ruins the reputation of the franchise it's a part of in the process. Some notable examples include the Jurassic Park and Home Alone sequels.

Bob: Did you know that there was more than one Home Alone movie? I bet they were hot garbage.
Jeremiah: Yeah, and Hollywood only makes leequels nowadays. I thought they would never top Tokyo Drift, and I was right.
