When you try to find out about something through friends of friends of friends etc. Basically a massive game of Chinese Whispers that will end with you finding out absolutely nothing. Alternatively a general term to describe an incredibly convoluted group of people. Yes, this is an Inception joke.

A reverse Summuter is a person making a return commute journey (from a major area). Other than that, the word's usage and variations are the same as 'commute'.
