Indian (Panjab): Hindu (Arora) and Sikh name, based on the name of a Jat clan.

The Dhinga claim to be descendants of Fattu, son of Mitha, a Dhariwal Jat of Dhola Kangar. Fattu was converted to Islam in Akbar's reign.

Madan Lal Dhingra was an Indian revolutionary freedom fighter.
