spendy 

A hybrid between "Expensive" and "Trendy." "Spendy" items are usually those that are desirable, but out of one's normal pricerange. Spendy is not a derisive term, but can be used that way.

I'd sure like to see "The Producers" on Broadway, but tickets are spendy.
