The Thai word for quince — a herb (or fruit) that is believed to protect the house from the devil (in Thailand). It is also believed to be a holy tree of God Shiva in the Hindu religion. Moreover, Matoom (or quince) has many benefits mainly in health.

Thai people also name their kids(both genders), Matoom.

I named my kid Matoom. It's is such a cute name.
