In the context of 4chan's /lgbt/ board, inconsequential or false information related to gender transition that tends to become a fixation among board users to the point where many end up unironically believing it. The opposite of a hugbox. Any internet community or part of a community which either is naturally overly pessimistic and judgemental or strives to not be a hugbox and overcorrects. Can also be used as a verb in the same way as hugbox. Commonly used within the context of 4chan's /lgbt/ board and related communities to describe those communities themselves.
I posted a picture of myself to /passgen/ and was told I was a never-passer based on my skull size, but I'm stealth in real life. I think I'm being hateboxed.
