ambioptimist

a person who is usually an optimist, but sometimes fluctuates more to the side of pessimism when things seem hopeless or impossible.

“are you an optimist or a pessimist?”

“i’m actually an ambioptimist!”

A sad romance. The word is usually used to describe a book.

I’ve been reading this new woemance novel recently.
