psychophant

A portmanteau of "psychotic" and "sycophant." A political follower or subordinate whose obsequious, brown-nosed flattery of a leader is so intense that it becomes unhinged, irrational, or completely detached from reality. Unlike a standard sycophant (who flatters out of calculated self-interest), a psychophant has genuinely brainwashed themselves into believing their own manufactured praise, often defending a leader's erratic behavior, lies, or conspiracy theories with cult-like zeal.

A standard sycophant praises the boss to get a promotion, but a MAGA psychophant will camp out in the rain for three days just to watch a billionaire complain about crowd sizes.
