used in newsgroups to denote that the material is not the senders own but was found in another newgroup and the sender is passing it on

in the newsgroup alt.computer.drivers.wanted, in response to "need Sony Scanner driver", you might find "FIOG:Sony Drivers" and in the response would be the information need to get the driver, such as the url of the Sony site, another newsgroup, alt.computers.drivers, or even the driver itself.
