netbrain

Netbrain - A colloquial insult targeted towards the users of short-form content or the internet as a whole who portray untold brain-rot. It usually signifies a lack of critical thinking skills, unusually low attention span, or just an overall deficiency in intelligence.

It might imply mental illness and depression associated with frequent usage of the internet.
It may also describe people with unrealistically high expectations for their own life and unrealistic standards when it comes to choosing a spouse or friends. (For context, platforms such as instagram often show attractive people in photos and videos who boast a happy life which often is only joyful moments and occasions which rarely correlates to a happy life as a whole, which may cause people to compare that with their own life and people they're surrounded with resulting in unrealistic standards and expectations. Simply put, their beliefs aren't grounded in reality and over influenced by the internet, primarily social media.)

If you or a loved one is suffering from net-brain, it's a good idea to limit screen-time, venture outdoors more often, read books, and engage in face-to-face social activity.

Please refer to the term "Ipad-Kid" to see how the internet may effect the development of young impressionable children.
Sarah often showcases her netbrain whilst communicating, she can't go five minutes without her phone, she must be a user of Tiktok.

Man 1: "Joe is showing symptoms of depression and the timing correlates with his picking up of a habit in which he utilizes the internet frequently, perhaps he has netbrain, I pity him."

Man 2: "I do agree, being chronically online and developing netbrain is indeed pitiful."

Tiktok challenges are a good example of net-brain, people are so addicted to mindless scrolling that it destroys their ability to rationalize and exhibit critical thinking skills, which is dangerous for clout chasers who attempt dangerous trends in return for recognition. Be mindful of your outside influences!
