This term refers to the act of eating, rooting and then leaving in quick sucession, with mimimal time for cuddling after the sex act. This is in reference to the Australian marsupial, the wombat, which only eats roots and leaves.
George had to pull a wombat on Rachael so he could get home to his wife before she suspected any evidence of their steamy affair.
