A small incorporated "town for the motor age" located in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. As a community within a community, it was a planned town designed so one could walk anywhere. Its residents pride themselves on their fancy pool, multiple parks, overpriced houses and secretive Association. The elementary school has been remodeled in recent years, displacing the once popular stickball and basketball courts. Radburn school kids are often taught about the sister town in Japan during assemblies in the cafegymatorium-which had ceilings too low for basketball. The "radburn bump" is a small hill on Howard Ave, known for young drivers "bottoming out" as they pass over at excessive speed. The "town" of Radburn refers to the intersection of Fair Lawn Ave. and Plaza Road, once populated by local businesses, but has since been taken over by chains such as Panera and Subway. Unfortunately Biaggio's, the worst pizza in Fair Lawn, still remains. Radburn bagels are often towted as the best in all of Fair Lawn. The Baskin-Robbins store, which has since closed, was once known as a nexis for a burgeoning drug trade. Local hangouts include the back of CVS, known as Club C. Many residents also commute by the local train station into NYC. A predominantly white suburb, an increasing Russian immigrant population has called Radburn home in recent years.
