When you get blackout drunk and attempt to sexually assault your wife while she is sleeping, and fail. A successful attempt is defined as a "Kovatz". Usually practiced by sterile men.

"I tried to Antal my wife Laura last night."
"Was it a Kovatz?"
"No. Ended up with a black eye."
