From old Norse "hinkr" hesitation, "hinka" limp, to Norwegian "hinke" jump along on
one foot. Hence the saying "Det er bedre å hinke til Romerike enn å ronke til Himmerike", of which the English equivalent could be "It's better to hink your way to Weavan than to wank your way to
Heaven".
