Michigan slide
A husband tells his wife that a female colleague is stalking her, and convinces his wife that the young woman is a pest. In reality, the husband is having an affair with this younger woman, and he uses this fake story to prevent the girl from revealing the affair to his wife.
"My girlfriend keeps threatening to tell my wife about our affair. I pulled a Michigan slide on her, and my wife confronted her about her stalking. Now she's too scared to tell my wife the truth."
