Retarded when compared to real folk musicians with real emotion that went totally unsung in their time, like Blind Uncle Gaspard or Burnett and Rutherford.

Nick Drake's music is filled with fake emotion. River Man is eerie folk pop for the superficial domesticated masses; who want to listen to an Indie folk music to make themselves look or feel intelligent and cool. (but really, they are just fakes & poseurs)

An old, archaic 1800s (19th century) gentleman-like way of slang, for a supposed degenerate, outcast or idiot. Originated in North America, in New England. (presumably in the state of Pennsylvania, probably around the same time wicked became popular.)
