A thingamabob, an oojamaflip, a doodah.

Often used by, those let's say, that have walked down a few more roads than a handful. Someone perhaps sporting what some might call a rather dashing swathe of silver on their bonce.
(Ok, alright, fair enough, someone older ok, someone that might have the odd senior moment now and again...)

'Damnit Doreen, pass me the wasname will ya, you know, the thingamabob.'

'You mean the spoon, by any chance?'

'Yeah, yeah, just pass it over and shut up, smart ass!'
