The areas around a city with chain restaurants or malls. Some people call the outskirts edge cities, satellite cities, suburbs, it's all a reference to similar areas.

Shot in the back

Like being stabbed in the back, except with a gun.
Once the guy had his back turned, Lindsay couldn't decide if she'd rather put a hammer or pickaxe in his head, stick him in the back with a knife, or shoot him in the back. She decided if he was shot in the back, her odds of not getting caught were the best of the three options.

Grover Cleveland

You know Trump is going to try and pull a Grover Cleveland in 2024, and undermine Biden the entire time he's in office if you're realistic about it.
Trump disappeared for a while and reappeared in 2024, he's trying to pull a Grover Cleveland.

Extreme

The favorite word of a group of posers that act like rednecks from South Jersey in Harold and Kumar.
Main poser turns, swings, and stops a punch inches from Kumar's face, causing him to flinch.
Main poser- Thank you come again.
Background posers- Extreme!!!
Harold- Dude, those guys were posers. The one that almost hit you in the face looked exactly like Lil Wyte, did you notice that bro?

Canine

Cain was the kind of guy who would have a German shepard and a shepard's cane, if not another kind of canine if he were a real person and not someone to reference to in life.

Draconian measures

Another way of saying reptilians are measuring people's patience and tolerance for their bullshit social experiment.
The Draconian measures were in effect.

Blind optimism

Thinking everyone you like will also be someone you can trust would be blind optimism, and at some point reality shows somebody that not everybody you like will be someone you also trust.
The charming guy/girl was hard not to like, but after years of being around this guy/girl, the blind optimism that started the relationship (friendship) ended up getting a bit more realistic when one party knew they'd never fully trust the other, attempt after attempt at trusting the other party had shown them that. When life was not a party, the people they liked the most were seldom the ones they could continue to trust.
