A fan favorite character in the videogame Kenshi released in 2018. Beep is a former member of The Hive, an ant or bee-like hive mind. He belonged to the relatively peaceful Western Hive, but was exiled for "being defective." He wound up in the city of Mongrel, the only safe haven in the middle of the rather dangerous Fog Islands region. The city is surrounded by a thick, permanent fog, in which a faction of insane and cannibalistic Hivers, the Fogmen dwell. How Beep managed to enter Mongrel without being killed by Fogmen is unknown, as the Fogmen are very hostile to all, even other Hivers. Upon interaction with a player controlled character, Beep tells them that he is tired of running from everything in the world, that he wants to become a renowned swordsmen and asks to be allowed to join the player's faction. If Beep loses some of his limbs, which is likely because of a Hive Worker Drone's anatomy, and gets cybernetic implants to replace them, he will start referring to himself as "Cyber-beep". After travelling with Beep for a while, he might start talking about his dreams of becoming the greatest swordsman, and meeting "beautiful FEMALE human ladies", even if his current travelling companions include female humans. He is shown to be unaware of the fact that said companions are female, which tells us, that Hivers don't have a strong grasp on the human concept of sexes and genders, because in a hive the only female is The Queen, and all the Princes and Drones are male.
-Hey, remember Beep, from that game Kenshi?
-That Hiver form Mongrel?
-Yeah, that one.
