DAPLed

When a live stream event or action is interrupted or killed, it can be said to have been "DAPLed." This term was coined at Standing Rock and Oceti camps in North Dakota during 2016/17. At that time, peaceful and nonviolent attempts were made by water protectors, largely comprised of indigenous tribes that united in an unprecedented fashion, to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipelines are known to leak repeatedly and threaten our clean water.

Many indigenous people live streamed from their cell phones on a daily and nightly basis so that the world could see what was happening. These live streams were often interfered with, interrupted or killed, which came to be known as being "DAPLed." DAPL stands for the Dakota Access Pipe Line, the pipeline water protectors wanted to stop.
"I was watching a live stream of the protests against the killing of unarmed Anthony Lamar Smith by police when the stream was DAPLed."
