Defending the hosel

In golf when you have the shanks and want to avoid them you start trying to steer your shots, this is called defending the hosel.
“Chez has had a few shanks, now he’s defending the hosel!”

dirty skeet

Dirty Skeet refers to a young mischievous and unhygienic individual.
It derives from the word Skitter, which older men or women would call a young mischievous boy or girl.

Over time Skeet replaced Skitter and Dirty Skeet came about from children coming back home unclean from playing outside.
Where's Martin?
Oh he's upstairs washing his hands, they were filthy.

He's a wee Dirty Skeet.
