The usual 9 am to 5 pm, eight hour work shift. Name comes from the Dolly Parton movie and song, “9 to 5.”

Steven: I am working tomorrow from 9 to 5.
Andres: So you are working a Dolly Parton shift.
Steven: What’s that?
Andres: I call it that as a reference to her movie and song.

When someone is held at gunpoint, they are said to be looking down the barrel of a gun.

The man was looking down the barrel as he was held at gun point by the mugger.

When baseball players from both teams leave the dugout to fight each other.

Both teams clear the benches after the batter got beaned by a wild pitch.

Another way to say that you have to poop. Similar to “dropping off the kids at the pool.”

Person 1: Aw man nature is calling and I need to go make a bank deposit bad.
