Becoming defensive about something that hasn't even happened yet, and probably never will.

I had been angry and prefensive all day because I new my boss was going to fire me and I had everything I was going to say loaded and ready...then he asked me in his office and I was like "here we go" ... then he told me he wanted me to plan the Christmas party.
