When one is so bold they can be compared to brass. Term also implies great confidence and courage.

Alex: "Well aren't you a beautiful specimen, what may I call you?"

Jessica Alba: "Well aren't you bold as brass? You can call me married"
(Of course, we should never expect such an intelligible response from said female)
