"That person seems like their in somnio. They competed six times in the monthly sports event but hasn't ever won once."

A state of desperacy trying to acheive something over and over but continuously failing

Person 1: Person 3 seems like they're in somnio.
Person 2: You're right, I've seen them trying to win the annual sports award for the sixth time now but hasn't placed first in every attempt.
