The burning sensation you get sometimes from smoking. It results from smoke reaching your nasal cavity and the back of your throat.
Burnt-syndrome occurs when you are smoking and for some unknown reason you get smoke up in your nasal cavity and the back of your throat. This results in an unpleasant burning sensation.
