Accronym, mostly used in electrical engineering forums, like IMHO. But more obscure, and used mostly by those too lazy to type the full thing out, and also don't want to explain a common concept.

N-FET are a type of Feild Effect Transistor, as are JFets, MESFETS and so on YGTI.
I like all fruits; apples, oranges, pineapples, and grapes, BYGTI.
