When you are asked to come to an event because you can "cover it" in some way (online).

Me: someone asked me to a party.
Him: that's great!
Me: Not really, it's a useitation to get me to tweet about it.

wimplash

The state of a person or company when they stand still and can't decide to move one way or another. It's paralysis without any real reason. "Make a decision and be resolute" is the call of the 2000-and-lates.

I asked them if they wanted to work with me and they just sat there, like a deer in the headlights unable to move right or left, as if they had "wimplash"
