Mythical aircraft component reportedly changed in order to repair a jet that you have no idea what was wrong in the first place. See switchology

Boss: What was the fix on that radar problem?
Mech: We replaced the knueter valve sir.
Boss: Did that fix the problem?
Mech: Sure did sir, jet is back in service.

Switchology

Avaition term used explain repair action that involves adjusting a switch that was in the O.F.F. or OFF position. Many pilots confuse this switch position with the "Official" mode of operation.

Discrepancy: IFF inop in OFF mode
Repair Action: Switchology, IFF worked fine in ON mode

Aviation term used to explain the 12 hour shift your about to work for no reason.

To work without accomplishing anything, getting hosed, screwed, fucked over, fucked in the ass.

To perform recreational maintenance on aircraft that are not going to fly or even on the flying schedule.
