A great wise man, who began studying the darkness in people's hearts. Delving too deeply, he fell into darkness and created the Heartless. Possessed Riku to regain physical being in this world. Sought Kingdom Hearts for the ultimate darkness, but was ultimately destroyed by the light.

Those without hearts. Originally human, and mutated by Ansem, these creatures seek and consume other's hearts, thus making more Heartless. They thrive on the hearts of different worlds, and destroy the worlds in the process. Greatly fear the Keyblade.

A special key that can unlock many things, seal the Keyholes to worlds, and destroy the Heartless. Is weilded like a sword, and can be thrown. Can only be used by the Keyblade Master.
